Retrospective analysis on prognosis of oral cancer patients according to surgical approaches for effective cancer ablation: swing approach versus visor approach
For the surgical treatment of oral cancer, it is sometimes necessary to expand intraoral access within the oral cavity. This study analyzed postoperative outcomes such as complications, recurrence rate, and survival rate by the two common approaches, i.e. "swing approach" and "visor approach". The goal of this study is to evaluate the surgical outcomes of patients using these two approaches, to propose effective perioperative management for oral cancer surgery, and to compare the prognosis of oral cancer patients.

Advancements in alveolar bone grafting and ridge preservation: a narrative review on materials, techniques, and clinical outcomes
This review aims to furnish an analysis of recent studies exploring the efficacy and clinical outcomes of various materials used in ARP, from natural to synthetic, and traditional to novel materials like injectable bone substitutes and 3D-printed scaffolds. An examination of different techniques and surgical procedures in ARP, their evolution over time, and how recent advancements are overcoming the limitations of historical approaches will be provided.

Aims and scope
Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes clinical and basic research on the epidemiology, etiology, treatment, and prevention of congenital and acquired anomalies/defects involving the oral and maxillofacial regions. The journal focuses on investigating the causative factors of oral and maxillofacial anomalies/defects and the development of surgical methods and materials for morphological reconstruction or functional restoration. Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is the official journal of the Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
The journal welcomes high quality original articles, case/technical reports, collective or current reviews, editorials, and brief communications and covers the following main subjects:
• Congenital deformity of maxillofacial area
• Dental and maxillofacial reconstruction
• Tissue engineering related to maxillofacial reconstruction
